Excellent quick start organizer!
This was probably one of the more complex organizers I've assembled from Broken Token, but well worth it! Still not difficult to do. I used super glue gel so that everything sets fairly quickly, and I had everything in place in 30 minutes. All the game components, including the sleeved cards, fit nicely. The promo cards fit as well. Perfect.
A place for everything and everything in its place
The long and short, this really is a 'must have' for keeping all the items for Dead of Winter organized and protected. Construction is straightforward, though I did opt to use wood glue to ensure pieces stay together. Call me obsessive. When the assembly is complete, there is some fear that it just 'wont fit' in the box. It will fit, but is quite snug. Two tips: 1) Make certain all of your joints are as tight as can be. Gaps will skew the dimensions. 2) Make certain you keep all corners square when sliding the assembly into the box. Cocked corners or a bad angle will lead to a jam. Keep patient and steady and you will have no issues.
Absolutely worth the money

I can't say enough good things about this organizer.
I played Dead of Winter for the first time a few weeks ago. I was a copy I got for Xmas, and hadn't gotten into yet. Finally had a group of 4 that were into it enough to play so we went at it.
The game is great, as I am sure you are aware. You are also here because you realized almost immediately (like we did) that this game's one and only weakness is its lack of a good organizer/divider in the box. Sure, they give you a ton of baggies to use, but they are no substitute for good organization. I Googled Dead of Winter Box Insert, and found this product.
Broken Token's Dead of Winter Organizer is smartly designed, easy to assemble in about 5 minutes, fits (tightly) into the original box, and makes administrating the game 1000x easier. I cannot wait to play again now that I have this Organizer.
The Organizer arrived in a padded envelope with easy to follow instructions to assemble it.
Lots of bits/pieces and the horrors of a long setup & cleanup are what keep me from playing games like Small World or Five Tribes regularly. If there were Organizers of this caliber for those games I would surely purchase them.
Bottom line, buy this Organizer, or any Organizer from Broken Token for whatever game(s) you have. It is totally worth it just for the fact that it will make you want to play games with tons of pieces more often. I will definitely pick up some more Broken Token organizers for the games I own.
Y'know, there wasn't a horde here a minute ago.
It looks really nice inside the box, sometimes people don't even realize it's a third party product, fits all the cards, and simplifies setup immensely.
Previously one had to sort throuugh a variety of cards to find the right deck for each location, take them out of their indivduual baggy, shuffle them, and then repeat this for every location. Then, separate the secret objective cards, unbag all the tokens, and sort through the standees to make sure you had the survivors separated from the zombies. Even when me and my friends divided up the work, this process would take 10-20 minutes before we could actually start to play. Double that to tear everything apart and re-box eerything in a reasonable way.
With the insert, everything has a set place. Allowing for easy & quick sequential set-up of each location, no separating one deck of cards from another, and both the token and standee trays just lift out requiring no sorting or unbagging. Set-up has taken as little as 5 minutes now.Tear down is no longer like re-assembling an engine. (Where somehow there's always that one stray part you're not entirely certain where it came from. Somehow, me and my friends always end up bagging things up slightly more efficiently than before and there's a spare baggy.)
This is probably one of their most solid and easy-to-assemble designs to-date. Just follow their advice, apply some patience, maybe a little glue, and it'll come together nicely.
This definitely makes the game so much better as the set up and put away times are greatly reduced which honestly were the only down sides of the game for me. The only thing that kept this from being 5 stars for me is it seemed a fuzz to big for the box and i had to really fight with it to get it in the box.
I recently purchased 4 different inserts from this website based on the reviews I saw. I must say the hype is real. The quality of these plus the speed at which they arrive is amazing. Setup time has been reduced for all the games in question. No more carrying around multiple boxes for 1 game. Very easy to assemble I just needed a hobby knife a tiny bit of wood glue and some tape. These things are Saturday in the box. I wish they would do a couple more organizers for other games I have and I will quickly put in another order. I really want a small world organizer and elder signs.
iIf you are on the fence about these because of the price...just go for it. You obviously realize the need for the organizer or you wouldn't be looking and this is hands down the best organizer compqny. You will not be disappointed in your purchase. My only complaint is that they don't have more organizers for my other games.
A Must Have But No Room for More
by Andrew Alvin
This insert almost feels like an expansion that is required to have to play the game. There are so many separate piles of cards and tokens in this game that if you don't have the insert it's almost unbearable to play.
As the description of the item states, Mayday sleeves are the way to go with this. I tried with Ultra-pro and they do not fit. Also reading up fantasy flight also are too thick. You have to use Mayday or "penny" sleeves or there will not be enough room to fit all the cards or they will be too stuffed and possibly damage the cards.
The other thing to keep in mind is there is really no room for expansions. There is an empty space in the back that I use to hold extra sleeves but it really won't hold anything else at the moment.
If you put the game board in the correct place and the location cards and rule book on top the game box kiiiiiinda does not close completely but it's not enough to to make a huge deal about it.
I absolutely love this divider. I spray painted mine white and added red blood splatter to it and it's perfect.
Very clever, and handy product for Dead of Winter
If you're like me, and I know I am, you love Dead of Winter but are a little stressed about keeping all the little chits and die organised. This is a very clever product and is easy to assemble. It slips easily into the original box and keeps all the individual aspects of the game separate and organised. This might cut set up time in half, and makes managing the ins and outs of game play simple. I highly recommend.
The set was easy to put together, needed some reinforcement, but overall great stuff.
Really great insert, feel there could be better use of space
by Steve L
I really have only good things to say about this product.
The bits of the insert came in great condition. They were easy to take out of the cutouts, and had no damage or warping that I could find. The parts were hard to piece together - which is a good thing as the tolerances were just right to make it hold strongly together.
The instructions were minimal but well done - it was easy to figure out how to build the insert without having to read a tome.
Organizationally, the insert does its job really well. The trays are well organized, they fit well, and withstand being sit on its side on my shelf.
My only concern is that there is a significant amount of unused space. The space is broken apart in two different locations. My concern is that, if there are expansions or add-ons for this game they may not fit since space isn't contiguous and so would be hard to manipulate into more compartments or usable space. But that is a non-issue for the game as-is.

Makes it much easier to set up, play and tear down therefore more likely we will play. Easy to put together with excellent color instructions and with a little glue and tape as recommended in the directions its super sturdy.
A must for your game!
by Dan S
I bought this after acquiring the game and seeing the amount of bits and pieces it has. It is an absolute must have. It makes the game so much more presentable from just opening the box. No more using baggies for me!!
Another winning organizer
by Paul Martorano
As all of the other game organizers that I purchased, this one is another quality product. The addition of labels is a big help. Many of the earlier products did not include this. Thanks again!
Very fast shipping, fantastic product
I live in Melbourne Australia, and this shipped incredibly quickly - arrived well before the games I ordered from Amazon!
I waited until games arrived to write this review. The organiser is amazing, very happy with it. Thank you BrokenToken!
Just received the organizer a couple days ago and assembled it with no major pains. The little trays to hold all the pieces is fantastic, plus it organizes those pieces as well for faster setup/teardown. My only issue with the organizer is that the sections that hold the "Crossroad" cards is unable to hold them all sleeved. I wish they would account for more than just mayday sleeves since I rarely buy those unless absolutely necessary.
Excellent Product from an Excellent Company
by David Payette
This organizer makes setting up Dead of Winter a breeze which is saying something considering that Dead of Winter can be kind of a pain. The biggest assist is the card organizer which keeps all of the individual decks in the game separated and even has them burn-labeled so that you know what goes where. The cards also fit perfectly with sleeves. Also the first player token is much more impactful than the one which comes with Dead of Winter and that was an amazing touch to an awesome insert. I only have three problems with this insert which is why I did not give 5 stars. The first problem is if you build it using the instructions with the burn labels on the card slots on the outside (so it is easier to see without pulling the cards out) then one of the burn labels is blocked by one of the other pieces of the organizer. A small imperfection but it bothered me so I actually mirrored the instruction so that the labels are in the inside of the card slots so that you can see them when you put the cards away. This is actually more useful considering that's when you need to see what is what considering you use all cards in the game. Another problem is that for some reason, even though usually all the pieces fit together perfectly and snugly, the box which holds the zombies and humans does not stay together well. I know that I can simply use glue but one of the things that impresses me so much about these inserts is that glue is not necessary. So that was a bit disappointing and same with the first player token. Mine would not stay together without using superglue. A simple fix. Lastly, I think the card slot for the exiled objectives needs one extra piece so it doesn't look like the cards are just flopping around in the excess space. A piece similar to the one used at the end for the crossroads would be perfect.
Otherwise, great quality and condition as usual. Always fast shipping. I will always buy my inserts from this company and would recommend it to anyone else.
Best Organizer I've ever owned
by Bill Daley
OK so this is the first organizer I've ever owned. Putting it together was a breeze, I did find it helpful to have a xacto knife handy to shave off some extra material. I put a little bit of glue in the corners even though I don't think it was needed in the end. I think the additional cost will pay for itself in saving time in the setup phase and an easy setup will get my wife to play this game with me more.
Really fantastic insert!
by Mary-Scott Hunter
I love properly organizing my games for easy set up. And this hits the mark. And it's even fun to put together!
Wow! I wish every game was available
by Vincent Darlage
This is an incredible addition to the game. It organizes it exactly as it needs to be - and I love the compartments that lift out for use on the table.
Now, if only Broken Token would make one for Eldtrich Horror and D-Day Dice. :)
Box is awsome but Customer Service really shines
by Craig S
Not much more I can say about this awesome storage solution that hasn't already been said, but the really winner here is Customer Service. Mine shipped with a missing sheet, 5 days later I had the sheet in hand with a personalized note.
Thank you for the wonderful experience.
Best insert I've seen
by Marcus M.
I love everything about this insert. It makes Dead of Winter a fast playing, easy to setup game. What sets this insert apart from others is how much thought went into *everything* about it. One board came up to (what I thought) was a quarter inch too high, but it turns out it was designed this way to keep the game board from moving. Seriously, I wish this company made inserts for all popular games.
Useful in every way.

Suit storage and setup of the game perfectly.
You know who you are. Your cards have to be sleeved. your table must have coasters. You don't let people eat Cheetos or Doritos anywhere near your games. You crave organization. If you're like me, this organizer will satisfy that inner desire for order. Fight back the chaos! Make your games fit perfectly in neat little boxes and slots!
This organizer does its job and it went together pretty easy. There's nothing like the satisfying click of perfectly sized wooden pieces snapping together. Except maybe Scotch. Scotch and pieces snapping together, that's what I love. Buy this organizer. It will help you. It will make your game cooler. It will let you spend more on Dead of Winter while waiting for expansions.

It's been a while since I purchased an insert from this site (I nabbed King of Tokyo last time, another great insert) and it's clear that they have been refining their products since my last order.
The instructions were very easy to understand, and the insert was even easier to put together than the previous insert I had purchased. I am not handy at all, and I had no trouble putting it together. I used regular Elmer's Glue at the corners and everything holds together well.
I normally use Ultra Pro premium sleeves and I think they may make the cards too thick to fit in the inserts, so I wanted to make folks aware of that. I am planning on sleeving either with premium Mayday sleeves as the cards should still fit fine with those. The trays are excellent and everything is organized perfectly. Set up and clean up for this game now takes a fraction of the time it used to. I very highly recommend this insert!
Almost perfect insert
by J Lin
This insert was much easier to put together than I first figured upon pulling it out of the packaging. The pieces generally fit together nicely with only a couple of places needing any glue. Most of the pieces were glued together for extra stability, with the exception of the 'main' compartment, which required the glue (and a bit of tape) to make sure it held together without any wiggle or wobble. This actually made putting the outer box a little bit tricky since it was a bit of a balancing act making sure everything was in place before gluing the outer pieces (the inner pieces hold together nicely once the outer pieces are together, meaning you don't need to glue them if you don't wish to).
If I had one complaint to make, it's that the sections for the cards are setup the way they are. I had some Fantasy Flight sleeves available and decided to test out if they would fit in the compartments for the cards. Now, I knew that going in they advertised only having tested these for the Mayday sleeves, but I gave it a shot anyway since the sleeved cards did actually fit height wise. It turns out that the fantasy flight sleeves, being slightly thicker than the Mayday premiums, don't actually quite fit in the card compartments that are pre-cut. There's actually ample room in the compartment that all of these could have been housed even in the fantasy flight sleeves, but due to the nature of the pre-labelled pre-cut compartments, it wasn't going to work out. A bit of a shame, as I am now forced to wait around for Mayday sleeves. This isn't really their fault, as they've already stated that's how the compartments were cut, but in the future perhaps it might work out better to just have various compartments cut and move the labels onto the dividers so that different sleeves could be accommodated for.
