Undead Winter Organizer

Product Description

You don't have time for a long set-up when the zombies are closing in. Start fighting faster with our Undead Winter Organizer compatible with Dead of Winter game box. All game pieces are contained within removable trays making setup a breeze. The card lane is wide enough for sleeved cards and we include 13 dividers to separate every card type.

Notes on Sleeved Cards: The pictures show all cards sleeved in Mayday Premium Sleeves (MDG7077). Due to the extra space needed for premium sleeves, the card divider spacings are pre-set for you. Engravings on the side of the wall indicate which cards occupy each slot.

NOTE: Does not support Warring Colonies.

NOTE: We've been informed that there are different Dead of Winter game boxes. See box measurement note below.

This organizer is designed for the original Dead of Winter® game. If you're looking for an organizer designed for Dead of Winter®: The Long Night please see our Long Winter Organizer (ORG069).

This product is a kit that requires assembly. We recommend the use of wood glue (sold separately)

Excellent Product from an Excellent Company

This organizer makes setting up Dead of Winter a breeze which is saying something considering that Dead of Winter can be kind of a pain. The biggest assist is the card organizer which keeps all of the individual decks in the game separated and even has them burn-labeled so that you know what goes where. The cards also fit perfectly with sleeves. Also the first player token is much more impactful than the one which comes with Dead of Winter and that was an amazing touch to an awesome insert. I only have three problems with this insert which is why I did not give 5 stars. The first problem is if you build it using the instructions with the burn labels on the card slots on the outside (so it is easier to see without pulling the cards out) then one of the burn labels is blocked by one of the other pieces of the organizer. A small imperfection but it bothered me so I actually mirrored the instruction so that the labels are in the inside of the card slots so that you can see them when you put the cards away. This is actually more useful considering that's when you need to see what is what considering you use all cards in the game. Another problem is that for some reason, even though usually all the pieces fit together perfectly and snugly, the box which holds the zombies and humans does not stay together well. I know that I can simply use glue but one of the things that impresses me so much about these inserts is that glue is not necessary. So that was a bit disappointing and same with the first player token. Mine would not stay together without using superglue. A simple fix. Lastly, I think the card slot for the exiled objectives needs one extra piece so it doesn't look like the cards are just flopping around in the excess space. A piece similar to the one used at the end for the crossroads would be perfect.

Otherwise, great quality and condition as usual. Always fast shipping. I will always buy my inserts from this company and would recommend it to anyone else.

Best Organizer I've ever owned

OK so this is the first organizer I've ever owned. Putting it together was a breeze, I did find it helpful to have a xacto knife handy to shave off some extra material. I put a little bit of glue in the corners even though I don't think it was needed in the end. I think the additional cost will pay for itself in saving time in the setup phase and an easy setup will get my wife to play this game with me more.

Really fantastic insert!

I love properly organizing my games for easy set up. And this hits the mark. And it's even fun to put together!

Wow! I wish every game was available

This is an incredible addition to the game. It organizes it exactly as it needs to be - and I love the compartments that lift out for use on the table.

Now, if only Broken Token would make one for Eldtrich Horror and D-Day Dice. :)

Box is awsome but Customer Service really shines

Not much more I can say about this awesome storage solution that hasn't already been said, but the really winner here is Customer Service. Mine shipped with a missing sheet, 5 days later I had the sheet in hand with a personalized note.

Thank you for the wonderful experience.

Best insert I've seen

I love everything about this insert. It makes Dead of Winter a fast playing, easy to setup game. What sets this insert apart from others is how much thought went into *everything* about it. One board came up to (what I thought) was a quarter inch too high, but it turns out it was designed this way to keep the game board from moving. Seriously, I wish this company made inserts for all popular games.

Useful in every way.

Suit storage and setup of the game perfectly.

Worth it

You know who you are. Your cards have to be sleeved. your table must have coasters. You don't let people eat Cheetos or Doritos anywhere near your games. You crave organization. If you're like me, this organizer will satisfy that inner desire for order. Fight back the chaos! Make your games fit perfectly in neat little boxes and slots!

This organizer does its job and it went together pretty easy. There's nothing like the satisfying click of perfectly sized wooden pieces snapping together. Except maybe Scotch. Scotch and pieces snapping together, that's what I love. Buy this organizer. It will help you. It will make your game cooler. It will let you spend more on Dead of Winter while waiting for expansions.

Fantastic Insert!

It's been a while since I purchased an insert from this site (I nabbed King of Tokyo last time, another great insert) and it's clear that they have been refining their products since my last order.

The instructions were very easy to understand, and the insert was even easier to put together than the previous insert I had purchased. I am not handy at all, and I had no trouble putting it together. I used regular Elmer's Glue at the corners and everything holds together well.

I normally use Ultra Pro premium sleeves and I think they may make the cards too thick to fit in the inserts, so I wanted to make folks aware of that. I am planning on sleeving either with premium Mayday sleeves as the cards should still fit fine with those. The trays are excellent and everything is organized perfectly. Set up and clean up for this game now takes a fraction of the time it used to. I very highly recommend this insert!

Almost perfect insert

This insert was much easier to put together than I first figured upon pulling it out of the packaging. The pieces generally fit together nicely with only a couple of places needing any glue. Most of the pieces were glued together for extra stability, with the exception of the 'main' compartment, which required the glue (and a bit of tape) to make sure it held together without any wiggle or wobble. This actually made putting the outer box a little bit tricky since it was a bit of a balancing act making sure everything was in place before gluing the outer pieces (the inner pieces hold together nicely once the outer pieces are together, meaning you don't need to glue them if you don't wish to).

If I had one complaint to make, it's that the sections for the cards are setup the way they are. I had some Fantasy Flight sleeves available and decided to test out if they would fit in the compartments for the cards. Now, I knew that going in they advertised only having tested these for the Mayday sleeves, but I gave it a shot anyway since the sleeved cards did actually fit height wise. It turns out that the fantasy flight sleeves, being slightly thicker than the Mayday premiums, don't actually quite fit in the card compartments that are pre-cut. There's actually ample room in the compartment that all of these could have been housed even in the fantasy flight sleeves, but due to the nature of the pre-labelled pre-cut compartments, it wasn't going to work out. A bit of a shame, as I am now forced to wait around for Mayday sleeves. This isn't really their fault, as they've already stated that's how the compartments were cut, but in the future perhaps it might work out better to just have various compartments cut and move the labels onto the dividers so that different sleeves could be accommodated for.
