Seventeen removable trays make set-up and tear down a breeze. A large tray holds all the 2-sided map tiles with an etched stacking order to help find the right tiles and pack back up. 4 identical trays hold the party’s active character’s ability cards, attack modifier cards, collected item cards, character tokens, character pad, character board and hp/xp dials and trackers, as well as a spot for the character standee for first edition copies of the game. The miniatures tray holds all the character miniature boxes with cutouts making it easy to remove the right one. 2 identical trays hold the 2-sided overlay tiles with a third smaller tray for the trap overlay tiles. 1 mini-card tray holds the 4 base attack modifier decks, blessing cards, curse cards, negative modifiers, battle goal cards, random scenario cards, and all item cards with enough dividers to separate all the cards by type and items by prosperity level. The standard card tray holds road and city events; separated by available, locked and used events; personal quest cards, and both types of random dungeon cards. The standard card tray also has a “secret compartment” under the cards for the Town Records Book and sealed envelopes. There are 3 “combat” trays, one holds all the status tokens (the 2nd edition redesign rendered the blessing and curse tokens obsolete so the tray was redesigned to hold the 8 rather than 10 tokens), one holds damage tokens, money tokens, xp tokens/scenario aid tokens, and element discs and round tracker for set-up, the third tray holds the summons and their trackers and number tokens. Finally there are 3 monster trays, one for plastic stands, another for the monster stat sheets and sleeves, the third holds 30 custom full color tuck-boxes that store the monster attack modifier cards and each monster type’s standees and ability cards together.

Practically a necessity
Gloomhaven is an amazing game that is severely hurt by the amount of time that it takes to set up and tear down. Before buying this organizer, I looked at all my options, and while I wish that there was a place to put the boxes for the in-use characters (or maybe something else to hold all the characters not in use), the tuckboxes for the monsters more than makes up for it. There’s room to divide all the cards in many different ways, even with thick sleeves! Also, while it does take a good while to assemble, it’s very straightforward and easy.
Speeds up set and clean up
by Jim Sharp
This organizer speeds up set up, makes the game more about playing the game and less about the administration of finding the pieces you need to play the game. While you are playing, you don't have all the unused, unpacked pieces scattered about taking up table space. When you are done, you can clean up super fast. It took me about 2 hours to put together while I was watching TV with my son. Highly recommended.
Overall I like it, price is kind of a tad high imo but since Gloomhaven takes alot I think it will be worth it.
Not 5 stars because as someone has pointed out it doesn't fit perfectly in the box and the lid sits up a bit, not huge but a tad annoying for me.
Not enough slots for the cardboard tokens, I had to double up one of the tokens to get them all to fit. Not huge but again, point of separating and sorting is for it to be all separate
Also another reason is because you are required to remove at least 3 of the characters from their boxes and put them in the wooden trays. I haven't started a game yet and I don't want to open 3 starter characters to only have to put them back in a paper box again to put something else in. Then also makes me think of what changes when your only doing 2 players or playing with 4 players.
It took me a while to assemble the organizer and put everything in place, but this will help so much with the setup of the game. Great presentation, my only complain could be those 3 character boxes that have to be folded of stay out of the box (we are only two players so I guess I will remove one additional character and use the tray).
Btw, it would be great if you could get more of your products to some partner in Europe... Delivery+taxes were almost the same price than the organizer itself.
This organizer should be marked as a required accessory for Gloomhaven. It fits the box great and somehow manages to pack every piece neatly into the box. The addition of tuck boxes for the minions helps speed up setup of the game. You should be able to set up a scenario in less than 15 minutes instead of around 40 minutes without the insert. Truly worth the money!
I wish I'd bought this right away
I got the 2nd printing of Gloomhaven and thought I didn't need this organizer. Instead I tried organizing the pieces in a few plastic containers I had lying around. With that "solution", I could only ever fir half the stuff in back in the box and it was still quite a bit of work digging out cards and standees for the monsters.
This organizer is great and *nearly* fits everything back in the box, with the exception of the 4 original character cardboard boxes. I chose to stain mine and spray it with a bit of polyeuathane, and I'm glad I did. It looks great. If I had another unwieldy game, I would definitely consider another Broken Token organizer. (Contemplating the "Dead of Winter" one).
Quality and reasonable value
by Will Spearman
The box came nicely packed, the pieces assembled tightly without anything breaking, and everything fix within the box. The whole kit was fairly expensive, but worth it for me considering how difficult Gloomhaven is to transport with all its fiddly bits.
This is a typical Broken Token product, by which I mean that it is cleverly designed to solve a difficult problem. Gloomhaven is a game of extraordinarily many pieces in a huge box, and this organizer sorts them into easily digestible units. It does take basically an afternoon to assemble, but it is well worth both the time and the price.
The one real criticism is that the included instructions aren't very clear about how the insert is meant to be *used*. You kind of have to refer to the product page on the website to see why there are so many small card slots, for example.
Significantly reduces setup and breakdown time and generally makes a huge game more manageable.
Game Changer (get it...)
This organizer will save me hours and hours of set up time. The between scenario set up time was a bore and it really broke the flow of the game, but with this organizer I have more than cut set up time in half. The tuck boxes for the enemies is exactly what I was hoping for.
Construction took a bit of time, but the final product is very worth the effort. I had no problems following the assembly video, but expect to pause it frequently as it is sped up from real time.
Overall, it exceeds my expectations. Who ever designed this product has a beautiful mind :).
Must have . Period.
If you like this game, and I’m sure you do if you’re reading this. Do yourself a favor and get this. It removes any hesitation about setup/tear down time when you want to play.
Fantastic organizer. A bit pricey. Needs more dividers. A smidgn too big for the box.
Overall, I'm happy with the organizer. It's a pretty elegant solution to the chaos that is Gloomhaven. I especially like the special details and touches, like the burn-in symbols on several trays. The materials feel sturdy and of-quality, without feeling too heavy. Assembly was actually fun, though it did take several hours.
Unfortunately, for the price, I wish I had a few more dividers. I need about 2-3 more small & large dividers, each, to manage the various stacks of cards for my campaign. Not a deal-breaker, but a bit frustrating. Also, unfortunately, somehow it's just a bit too big. With everything in the box, the lid is pushed up by about a centimeter. Manageable, but a bit bothersome. Of course, you can store some of the empty (i.e., in-use) character sleeves OUTSIDE of the box, but that defeats the point.
First foray into game inserts - very happy!
by Matt Strange
I live in Australia so it was a big jump when buying this insert. The shipping costs almost as much as the product. Therefore it took a bit of research to make sure I was buying the right product.
Over the course of three nights I assembled this beast and wow! Thank you! this really is the insert I was looking for.
If you like your bits and chits organized, this is the way to do it. It's fun to assemble too!
by Dan Hamman
Was originally a bit off-put by the price, but after using it just a few times I have no regrets. The instructional assembly videos were great, and after seeing the bit about applying a stain, I even took the extra day to make it look nice.
I've sleeved most of the cards, and they all fit back in the card holders. The only cards I've not sleeved is the equipment, but if I wanted to there is room.
Gloomhaven has far too many pieces to keep track of without some form of organization. I am very happy with the Broken Token solution. I travel to my local games night, and while this organizer will not keep all the pieces from scattering about the box if it is inverted, it does hold everything through tips and bumps. Setup and teardown is much easier with the kit.
Everything fit back in the box, including the unused 4 character boxes. We just folded them flat and put them on the far left side. Two of the monster deck boxes are a little tight, but after learning how to properly fill them I've had no problems. They even fit with sleeves.
Great work. Assembly was a long evening of staining, followed by another long evening of gluing. But it was ready to go the following day, and I can't imagine playing without it.

Makes set up of each session a snap. Looks amazing (I stain, lacquer and sand all of my BT products now). Like other, I hate that 4 tuck boxes have to be stored creatively, but for all of the other pluses, it doesn't remove a star. I love that it fits sleeved cards with ease. Setting up the trays for the first time can be kinda confusing, but luckily BT has made some videos to watch :-) Just a great product over all. Also, I am not sure if it is just this organizer becuase of the volume of orders and it's sheer size, but the wood product on this and my Terra Mystica organizer seems to be lower quality then usual. Never had any issues staining the wood, but the last 2 both had tons of splinters.
A must if you have this game
by Lucas Gonzalez
This product keeps everything nice and organized. There are so many components that it would be a nightmare to setup and tear down. I love the tuck boxes for the monsters as well as the player trays. This as well as the videos on how to assemble and how it fits in the box is what sold me on this one as opposed to another brand.
Easy set up aide for a great game.
Very easy to put together and items all fit even with the 2nd edition. I placed two of the new health dials in the unused tuck boxes for our active characters. Makes this way easier to unpack and set up a scenario. My wife and I can get into a game with 5 minutes or so.
by Rick Yarto
Kudos to Broken Token for designing a well made storage system to Gloomhaven! When completed, all components fit perfectly into the box as advertised. The videos were invaluable in putting all the bits into each container. My only small gripe was how tiny the diagrams were of each board; some parts were tough to distinguish. The step by step directions were very clear and once I got into the construction, the process flowed very easily.
Great way to display and prepare for the game
This organizer has been one of the best purchases I have made for a board game. It really alleviates the main issue with the game, component overload. Having the tuck-boxes for each enemy type and the dedicated tray for the battle tiles is awesome. Buy far and away my favorite feature are the dedicated player trays.
One con, however, is that there isn't really anywhere to place the tuck boxes that are currently being utilized. I suppose you are expected to have them rest on top, but it adds more volume and the box lid ends up lifting as a result.
I must say this is a veeery nice insert, I don't know what I'd have done without it, it makes set up and tear down times so fast and simple compared to not having it. I have only two problems with it, first is that the engravings aren't as detailed as in the pictures or the videos, so they aren't as easy to see nor do they look as good, the second one is as others have said that you have to fit at least 3 of the character boxes somewhere else or make them flat. Having said that the product is still amazing and what it has to do it does extremely well, very nice to put together also with the youtube videos which are excelent. Thanks!
Would be 5 stars except one thing
by firstname.lastname@example.org Thad
Overall, it's a great organizer and I never thought it would be worth spending so much money on something like this, but with games like Gloomhaven it really does help. My only issue (and the reason it is not 5 stars) is it doesn't hold all of the character boxes for v2 of Gloomhaven. 3 boxes are not able to fit. It's only because it organizes everything else so well that I can still give it 4 stars.
Awesome Solution for Gloomhaven
Awesome storage solution for Gloomhaven. You ABSOLUTELY NEED some kind of storage solution for this game, and this one is great.
Super customer service.Extremely friendly phone person.A pleasure to deal with.
Great design-looks and does exactly what it shows in the pictures and videos. No issues with my pieces. All were perfectly cut and in fine condition.
Super stinky when first opened.
I dislike the fact that you have to sacrifice the storage space for 3-4 opened character boxes if you want to use the provided currently- in- use character trays. It can only hold 14 of the 17 character boxes when the 4 trays are being stored. It is assumed that these boxes are empty while using those characters. The solution provided in the 2nd edition video is to fold the empty boxes up and store them on top.I was surprised when I built it and found that out.I did not know this before and I do not know if it is mentioned anywhere.I like to keep everything together,on display for easy reference, in the box.Not a major issue, but one to be aware of, if you were hoping to store the COMPLETE contents of the box. There is only room to store them if you ditch the trays, or keep the folded boxes on top, as directed.
The directions were a little hard for me to follow, completely visual, like an Ikea or Lego assembly guide.Practically non-existent text directions. This is just me, I understand reading instructions better than pictures, but may be perfect for you.
Neither Pro or Con-
Price-a little high, but this is a luxury item-not needed, but oh so very nice, so a little extra cost for the extra bling is to be expected.
You absolutely need to watch the YouTube videos to fit it all in the box.The included directions didn't really help me get a grasp on how it went into the box.Again, it may just be me,you might do better than I did.
Excellent product from a great company.A few niggling design decisions, that I am not crazy about, but nothing that would stop me from purchasing again, all things considered.Better than baggies and cups or trays and much better than any foamcore solution I could have built myself.I am ultimately satisfied with it and would recommend it to anyone who wants to splurge a little for a nicer upgrade to the Gloomhaven experience.
My first game insert
When I received this game after I Kickstarted it, I wasn't sure how to organize all the bits and pieces (it is by far the largest game I own). I found suggestions for organization on BGG and am so glad that I chose the Broken Token insert. We spent an evening staining the pieces but all in all went together quickly. I also like that there are videos on how all the pieces go in. It has made set up so much faster, and is so pretty stained.
Place for everything - well worth it
by Justin Rockwood
I was really impressed with the quality of the organizer. It's very well designed and there is a place for everything. It was pretty easy to set up, although a little time consuming. Well worth the effort and the money! Highly recommended
