Seventeen removable trays make set-up and tear down a breeze. A large tray holds all the 2-sided map tiles with an etched stacking order to help find the right tiles and pack back up. 4 identical trays hold the party’s active character’s ability cards, attack modifier cards, collected item cards, character tokens, character pad, character board and hp/xp dials and trackers, as well as a spot for the character standee for first edition copies of the game. The miniatures tray holds all the character miniature boxes with cutouts making it easy to remove the right one. 2 identical trays hold the 2-sided overlay tiles with a third smaller tray for the trap overlay tiles. 1 mini-card tray holds the 4 base attack modifier decks, blessing cards, curse cards, negative modifiers, battle goal cards, random scenario cards, and all item cards with enough dividers to separate all the cards by type and items by prosperity level. The standard card tray holds road and city events; separated by available, locked and used events; personal quest cards, and both types of random dungeon cards. The standard card tray also has a “secret compartment” under the cards for the Town Records Book and sealed envelopes. There are 3 “combat” trays, one holds all the status tokens (the 2nd edition redesign rendered the blessing and curse tokens obsolete so the tray was redesigned to hold the 8 rather than 10 tokens), one holds damage tokens, money tokens, xp tokens/scenario aid tokens, and element discs and round tracker for set-up, the third tray holds the summons and their trackers and number tokens. Finally there are 3 monster trays, one for plastic stands, another for the monster stat sheets and sleeves, the third holds 30 custom full color tuck-boxes that store the monster attack modifier cards and each monster type’s standees and ability cards together.

Good not great
There are many options out there for organizing gloom haven and this does seem to be the best choice out there if you are going to spend more than $5 or $10. It took me about two hours to put it together and it does help organize the game and cut down on set up time which is great! The downside of course as most have mentioned is that the tray for the Board pieces could have a slightly better design solution and the fact that you have to collapse 4 character boxes to fit everything. I am playing with just two people and we have not retired a character yet so that means we have to keep two of the unopened character boxes out of the gloom haven box which is unfortunate. Board pieces could possibly have a slightly better solution and the fact that you have to collapse for character boxes to fit everything. I am playing with just two people and we have not retired character yet so that means we have to keep two of the unopened character boxes out of the gloom haven box which is unfortunate. But all in all if you purchased gloom haven and want to get the most plays out of it and therefore the most for your money getting this organizer will help you get things to the table faster and overtime hopefully means you get to play it a few more times.
A few problems BUT HUGE time saving for the game
It only gets a 4 because it takes so long to put together, it adds so much more weight to that heavy box, it is like Tetris to put everything in again in the box, the board tray does not fit exactly as advertised, and if you do not have at least three characters in the trays then not all of the characters will actually fit back in the box. While that does sound like a lot of complaints and to some it might be, but I first had the game in bags. Then to play I had to search for the bags I wanted and then the cards and then and then and then. You get the point. Set up was a pain and while I like the game I dreaded playing it since I knew that set up would take way too long. This solved that problem and made life easy. So while I think their are a few problems those are well worth the time trade off for what I had to deal with in set up and clean-up of the game. I just wish it was not such a pain to make sure everything was in such a perfect set up to get it put away. However, the fact that sleeved cards now fit is great, which is one thing the initial game organizer did not allow for me to do, so thank you for that one.
Monster Boxes #Facepalm
Overall this is a good organizer which does the basic job of getting everything into and out of the box in an orderly fashion. After that there are a couple of detractors.
The biggest detractor is the Archer, Guard, and Boss monster boxes. The idea of these boxes is fine (storage of cards with cardboard monsters), but the those specific three boxes are seriously packed and barely have enough room to repack at the end of the game. There are a lot of games that play with those three types, so it's more than just an occasional headache.
The item card and modifier deck organizer has plenty of slots to sort however you choose, but all the spots make it confusing to find what you are looking for. It would be nice if this organizer was engraved on the sides to more easily identify what went where.
The status modifier tray and the money/damage tray have beveled edges making it real easy to get the tokens out. A very nice feature as you are constantly digging into these trays!
Very nice organizer
by Alex Boyd
This is a very nice organizer. I had to take one star away because not everything fits in the box with all the character envelopes (you have to remove 4 character envelopes to fit everything, but to be fair, those 4 character envelopes are replaced with the character organization trays). I enjoyed putting it together, and think it will be a big help with the speed of setup and tear down. Overall, great product, no regrets on the purchase!
It's a bit pricey but so worth it for the quality of the product. I'm very impressed. The game is easier to play and there's a spot for everything. You do have to take out 4 character boxes and use he character trays for everything to fit in the box which is slightly inconvenient because we are only playing 2 players right now but I understand why they did it that way.
Great organizer that helps speed up setup and teardown
by JS Joseph
Really nice organizer. My favorite feature is the additional tuck boxes for all the monsters in the game. Least favorite feature is need to keep a couple of starter tuck boxes out of the box because they won't fit as designed. We are going through this as a 2-player and have extra boxes as a result. Also, the trays that hold the player items is a bit fragile. Other than that, it's a great organizer.
Efficient and effective
by Nick Caruso
This organizer will cut down setup and cleanup time by at least half. A very well designed and thought-out product that enhances players’ ability to fully immerse themselves in the game by making near seamless action through use of organizer trays and tuck boxes for monsters. If you’re serious about GloomHaven and then plan on playing with any regularity, this is a must buy!!
Great organizer, but it can't warp physics
by Luke Anderson
The gloomhaven organizer is great, it turns setup and teardown into an organized, reasonable process with obvious and easy steps. Sadly, with the sheer amount of Stuff that comes with gloomhaven, there are issues getting the lid to close cleanly, resulting in an unavoidable Gap Of Shame.
If you own Gloomhaven, own this. In fact, own this and put it together BEFORE you buy Gloomhaven. Trust me.
I’ll keep this short and sweet: this should be included in the game retail box. It was easy (and amusing) to put together, looks great, and makes the setup / breakdown of the game actually possible in under 45 minutes. Fantastic product, thank you and well done!
Sidenote: I have sleeved all my cards and with that said, I couldn’t fit the mini sculptures (something had to give) in the box after everything was put together. Character tuck boxes were just a little too thick after being sleeved. That’s my only gripe, and it’s a gripe equivalent to saying you hate pringles because your hand doesn’t fit in the can. Not the pringles fault! There’s just too much in this big beautiful box to spare even a centimeter.
Just a Brilliant piece of design
This organizer was easy to put together and beautifully made. Make sure to watch their YouTube videos to see how it all fits together.
by Raynor Czerwinski
I am super happy with this organizer! Everything fits nicely and speeds up the scenario setup massively. It took me about 3 hours to assemble all the boxes, had a lot of fun doing so. I used wood glue on all the joints and the boxes are bomber.
One component that I really like are all the individual monster card and standee boxes. The artwork on the little boxes are great. I can see the monsters in much better detail now. For instance, you can see the Ooze is having a hard time digesting all the arrows and swords from its previous victims :-) I did not notice that before getting the organizer.
Is There a Rating Higher Than Five Stars?
This is my first Broken Token and I am SO impressed and satisfied. My obsessively organized heart is so happy with how everything fits in the box using this. It took me several hours to put together but I really enjoyed the process so it didn't even seem that long. The wood is a really great quality and I love the iconography on some of the trays to show what goes where. The monster tuck boxes are AMAZING not just for the convenience factor but for the enlarged artwork as well. We haven't actually started our first campaign yet but I've been in the process of painting some of the starting minis and accessing them even at the bottom of the box has been a breeze with this organizer so I can't wait to see how easy this makes set up and clean up. It may be pricey but it's beyond worth it in my opinion!
An organiser’s wet dream.
My reasoning for 4 stars is the cost of shipping to Australia. Obviously I didn’t need to buy it if I felt it so expensive, but I feel Broken Token really is the best option for this sort of thing and I have purchased BT for at least 6 games now. The cost of the fittings including the shipping cost me just shy of Gloomhaven’s cost itself!
As well as what Dave said; the assumption that a game is in progress or that a person would want to “pack down” the character boxes that don’t fit. Not sure if it was mentioned in the product description.
Overall! A beautiful set of boxes as always. Everything fit so well for a game that was originall a total mess being packed away after first use. I will continue to purchase BT for future games when I have the money. Maybe a look into the cost of your shipping or loyalty discounts? As I think you could very easily tap into a huge overseas (Australian) market that shipping may currently scare away.
I will still recommend BT to all m board gaming friends. Thank you :)
Pretty Much Perfect
by Shane Heath
This is my first purchase from BT, but it definitely won't be my last. This organizer is pretty much perfect. Everything fits neatly into the core box. It makes game setup and cleanup a breeze. I love the added touch of the monster tuck boxes and the character storage trays. If you have any questions about build or storing, make sure you check out their incredibly helpful YouTube guides.
Fantastic insert. Makes setup/take down so much quicker, allowing us to play for longer! While the product says to use wood glue, only a few pieces required it. Definitely would recommend to anyone who has Gloomhaven to purchase this insert.
Pricey but fantastic product
I couldn't give this five stars simply because it is so expensive, but this is an amazingly built product. I enjoy playing Gloomhaven so much more simply because it is that much easier to set up, and that much easier to play. No longer am I spending minute after minute searching for the right token. It fits together like a glove on a hand as well.
It took awhile to build but seems pretty sturdy. Everything has it's own spot. The whole set up is VERY satisfying.
by Daniel Yorton
Great product. Very accurate cuts. Everything went together great.
Makes setup and takedown so much quicker! Actually getting this game to the table thanks to this.
Overall, the Gloomhaven Organizer is awesome, but I have a couple complaints. First, not all the character tuck boxes fit. For me, I could fit all but three in the original box (I've heard that four don't fit but maybe that was the KS version). It's slightly annoying that I have to store some of the contents outside of the box when that was part of the reason for purchasing it. Second, it was a little confusing to know where all the game pieces are intended to go. The printed information says almost nothing, but the videos help a ton. I was still left with some questions about oddball tiles and because I'm still fairly "green" to Gloomhaven I didn't know the exact use of some of the tiles. (should this be put with traps? hazardous terrain? etc). Eventually, I took a guess and moved on.
Overall, 99% of the games is exceptionally well organized and helps a TON with setup and cleanup, if only it would all fit in the box. It does make me wonder why something like this wasn't included with the original game.
Everything I expected and more!
My organizer arrived a few days ago and the night I came home from my work rotation out of town my wife and I set to putting together all the trays together. With more than one box showing per page we were able to each work on a box or two at a time and had an absolute blast together! Then she set to putting all the monster cards and tokens in the custom tuck boxes (possibly my favourite part of the whole set) and I put everything else in their respective trays.
I would highly recommend this organizer set to anyone, the only two cons I have with it are that being from Canada the shipping (and then import charges to pick it up at my house) was quite high and limits me from buying more organizers in the future. The Broken Token used to work with a Board Game Store near me called Mission Fun and Games but sadly by the time I realized this I couldn’t order through them anymore. If you guys have any intention of doing this again, please do! It would really make it more viable for me (and several other people near by) to buy all your products frequently! The quality is amazing and I would love to keep buying your products! The other small problem I had was one of my dividers for the modifier/item card trays one of the fins was broken because it was etched out over a small crack in the wood. I’ve since glued it back together for now, but mean to contact Broken Token for a replacement.
All in all, would highly recommend this organizer and all of The Broken Token’s products, just make it easier for me in Canada please! =)
This has all things you need!
I have never purchased an aftermarket accessory for a board game before, so I was unsure what I was going to encounter with this product. After taking time to watch the video and read the assembly guide, I am pleased to say I had no issues with the assembly, and the use of this organizer. I am so thankful this product was made, to help maintain the chaos inside that large, large box!
What a great product!
I was very hesitant to buy this insert because it's fairly pricey, but given the time it takes to setup/breakdown Gloomhaven I decided to give it a shot. All I can say is WoW! The monster boxes and trays for all of the components and 4 most commonly used characters drop the setup time down to about 10 minutes, and about the same for putting everything away.
The product is also extremely sturdy and easy to assemble (but be warned - it took me about 6 or 7 hours).
Great Organizer! Some Assembly Required.
by Justice A
- A place for everything. You can very quickly determine where the item you need is.
- Awesome support videos on YouTube that help you to assemble the organizer and where to put the components.
- Really does drive down the time on setup. Normally it took me 30 minutes or greater to set up a scenario, now it honestly takes around 5 or 6 minutes.
- Cool secret compartments for the secret envelopes
- Character trays to save your current party
- Labeled monster tuck boxes for quick grabbing
- Awesome miniature storage tray on the side. Most active party miniatures can actually fit in the character boxes, but I don't want to risk warping any of my minis in case I stick something in there wrong.
- Room for customizing. An abundance of dividers for the standard (city and road events, random scenarios) and mini card (items, battle goals, bless/curse) aspects. It's easy to find a configuration that suits your table.
- Looks classy
- Have to flatten a few character boxes of the current party. This doesn't bug me one bit, as I can easily stick them below decks.
- Long assembly time. I actually had a lot of fun doing this, but I also had a block of free time. I'd say that I worked while watching Netflix for a total of 6-8 hours. Hard to tell. You will need glue. In the long run, it is totally worth it, and no matter where you go you will have to do some assembly on an organizer of this size.
- Price is a bit high. Some of the wood had minor splinters while working. This terrified me as the organizer comes out to around $100 for an already expensive game.
- The monster tokens and their ability card decks are stored in the same boxes. For the majority of the characters, you can easily drop them back into the box after the 8-card deck, however for some of the boxes with more of the larger enemies (Archer, Boss, etc.) are somewhat of a tight fit and usually take a little extra time to finagle them around when putting them up.
If BT ever redesigns this organizer, it would be nice to see a separate, labeled tray for the enemy tokens and another one with their 8-card deck. Though this is just nitpicking at this point, and that would take away precious, precious space for such a large game.
All in all, I am very pleased with this organizer. While there is some room for improvement, my complaints are small and not enough to bump it down to a 4-star rating. If you get this organizer, you will be pleased. I have already played 4 scenarios with the new organizer, and it has saved a ton of time.
Must Have - Huge time saver
It keeps everything neatly stacked in the box and the trays get passed around as we setup the dungeons. Makes setup and tear down take a fraction of the time it did before, allowing us to play more. Using a little wood glue during assembly makes everything nice and sturdy.
well made, excellent quality
will be very usefull
