Frankly, they're not the same width as the primary dividers that come with the bigger kit.
This means they can't be used in the same notch as a neighboring row.

The non-extra dividers are 2mm narrower at the "shoulder" so that they can share the same notch in the frame.

RESPONSE: This is true. The dividers have been upgraded. In the past customers have experienced "loose" dividers. The shorter tabs can meant that the dividers can pop out of the channels. We redesigned them with the longer tabs to prevent this. The drawback is that they must be staggered to utilize. We apologize for the inconvenience this change may have caused. Updated design and easy to use

The updated design (which looks a little Kuzco the llama-ish) really helps the dividers stay in. The previous generation of dividers used a very small tab that did not always line up with enough material in the slots to stay in place. I still use a drop of glue at the base of every tab once I'm sure I have the configuration I want if I'm putting in individual dividers.

If you have old style dividers and the new style dividers, you're in luck - these work with them without issues.

Amazing Product, but 1 is Plenty

I ordered 3 of these to help divide my Dominion decks, and they fit perfectly, and I had no issues with using them in the same slots all the way across the box. However, I will need to look into returning some of them, as I didn't realize that once I put all my decks in, I actually ended up having to pull some of the original dividers out to get everything to fit.
