Due to the box size constraints, this organizer is not designed for use with sleeved cards.
Not compatible with Codenames: Disney Family Edition or Codenames: Marvel.
by Jessica Andrews
I use it for the standard game and Duets.
My only complaint is that I would prefer the slanted dividers either being long enough to touch the bottom of the box, or the slots in the sides cut deep enough to allow the dividers to touch the bottom. It's too easy for the cards in the slanted section to slide down under the divider, getting stuck or bent.

I love the organizer.
Fits multiple games, but fits them badly
by Tommy Westerman
I originally wrote a review saying that this organizer doesn't fit Codenames: Duet since the key cards are a different width. Customer service let me know I was in fact wrong in not an unpleasant way, but not a nice way either.
After looking at my own copy further, they were correct-- it does fit Duet but it fits it badly. You have to lay the key cards lengthwise which when mixed with another version of Codenames it makes one side higher than the other causing my box to have an odd fit. With some work I was able to get three games in the box with leaving some things out-- Codenames, the additional Deep Undercover word cards cards, and the additional Duet Keycards into the box, but I am not happy with how they are laid out.
I love custom inserts to death and I've bought quite a few from Broken Token, but this is one of the worst I've ever gotten from them. This isn't an insert you should buy if you have a single version of Codenames or multiple.
1. Setup/Takedown: Because everything must be crammed into the box even with just two similarly sized expansions, setting the game up or taking it down isn't any quicker than plastic baggies. This is usually reason one to get a custom insert.
2. Organization: I like custom inserts that store multiple expansions, but this one does it poorly. You have to leave out some components, store some others loose, and everything is crammed together and organized badly. Worse, some expansions it fits well, others it does not.
3. The box doesn't fit flat. Because I had to store the Duet keycards lengthwise, the box top does not sit flat-- one side has a raise to it. This is a major no for me.
Like I said, I love custom inserts but this is a case where I'm going back to plastic baggies.
RESPONSE: We are sorry the layout didn't work for you and apologize if our contact seemed less than kind. If you contact us again we would love to make sure this purchase was not a waste for you. We always appreciate feedback.
Great except for Duet
It's awesome to be able to put Codenames & Codenames Pictures in one box! All of my promos also fit. I bought 3 copies of the organizer to consolidate my 6 versions of Codenames into 3 boxes. Only problem is the Key cards for Duet are too large rectangles that don't fit in the organizer with another set (like Disney Family edition).
Great, unless your cards are sleeved
by Joshua J Turner
While this product was not DESIGNED to fit sleeved cards (a fact I was not aware of when purchasing), I was able to fit Mayday Premium sleeved cards in the box. However this only works with the base game and will not fit the expansion in this way. So you're left with a bunch of empty room. If you're okay with that, then great. I, on the other hand, purchased this organizer because I was hoping to store not only the base game with sleeved cards but other expansions as well. This is not possible with sleeved cards, unfortunately.
I like to sleeve all my games that will be staying around to improve longevity, which is also the same reason in part I invest in Broken Token organizers (this isn't the first product I've ordered from them).
RESPONSE: It is true, this is currently our only organizer that doesn't support sleeved cards. We do have that info listed in the product information. I am sorry if it wasn't more visible, we would appreciate any feedback that would make it easier for you to make informed buying decisions. We also really want people to be happy with their purchases. If you contact me through the website we can talk about making this right for you!~ Aminda TBT Customer Happiness Meeple :D
Wasn't told it wouldn't fit sleeved cards
I bought this product at Gen Con (August 2016) with the understanding that it would fit both Codenames and Codenames Pictures in the same box. I only now (January 2017) found time to assemble the organizer, just to discover that my sleeved cards do not fit. I have many other Broken Token organizers, and I love the ones for Mage Knight and Imperial Settlers and Race for the Galaxy, and they all fit my sleeved cards, so it came as quite a shock to me that this one is utterly useless. I'm giving it three stars because I could theoretically take the cards out of the sleeves, though that will never realistically happen, particularly with a party game that will be around lots of drinks and snacks.
RESPONSE: I am sorry that the proper expectations weren't set. It's true it is our only organizer that doesn't support sleeved cards, it was just impossible given the size of the box. We want all our customers to be thrilled with their purchases. Please contact our customer service rep Aminda via the website and she'll work with you on a resolution. Thanks for your support!
Allllllmost enough room!
by Andrew Hackard
I was looking forward to consolidating Codenames, Pictures, and Deep Undercover into a single box tonight once I got the organizer put together.
Sadly, it was not to be. I think there's actually room for all three in the organizer, but only if you take out all the dividers, and that makes this way less useful to me. So I have original and Pictures in one box, and Deep Undercover still in its own box (which is probably better if I want to play Codenames with my nieces and nephews, come to think of it).
Here's hoping the next set is a Deep Undercover Pictures so I have an excuse to get another organizer!
RESPONSE: I love your can do attitude :D It's true we had really only planned on the Original and Pictures to fit in the one box, but have been told that as long as you leave out the duplicated pieces there is room. But I think you may be right about your nieces and nephews. Happy Gaming and thanks for the feedback

Have base and Deep Undercover in one box with all components. Dividers seperating recently used cards. Was easy to put together. Nice, neat and efficient.
Another bang up job by The Broken Token.
All in one solution!
I'm all for things taking up less space, so to find out there was an officially licensed insert to put Codenames and Codenames Pictures together in one box, I was very happy.
Saving Shelf Space Yet Again
by Lorinda Gayle
I already have several Broken Token organizers, but this one for Codenames was the quickest, easiest assembly yet - less than 15 minutes from opening the shipping envelope to closing lid with the game contents safely inside. I have used glue on previous Broken Token projects, but I didn't bother this time because the pieces fit so snugly and the design really isn't under any stress when surrounded by the box. Another winner!
Helps To Specify Which 2 Sets It Holds
by Tovarcih Pizor
There are about 3 different groups I game with, all of whom pretty much completely agree that Codenames Pictures is a little TOO abstract for them. One group, however, likes the Undercover variant exclusive to Target, so I'd acquired this in the hopes of keeping both sets in one box. That works, sort of, but it required a pretty significant amount of fiddling to pull it off. Moving the central divider a few mm to the left would have allowed this divider to easily support just about any combination of two sets in one box much more elegantly.
RESPONSE: it is a bit of balancing act. Unfortunately due to the size of some cards the space is required to accommodate the larger cards - we found the best way is to avoid redundancy, if you take out components that are repeated there is more room available! With some fiddling we even got all three in one box!
Fits both games in one box
My wife loves that she can carry both games in one solid box
Really Awesome Product
So when I first got my game of Codenames, I was a little disappointment with the storage for the game. I then found this online and hope it would be a godsend, turns out it was. It was very easy to put together, feels very sturdy, and fits the pieces nicely. I'm likely to sleeve the cards and do not mind having to put them in the box differently, I prefer to keep each game to it's own box unless it comes out with a special edition storage, to chances are I'll likely buy two more of these in particular at some point for the other two versions of codenames (but I do have to buy them first ahah)
I do hope to see more games from you guys, such as Machine of Death or even Red Dragon Inn. Will probably start slowly buying what you guys have for the games I do own.
Does not fit sleeved cards.
by Jon L
With any party game, I like to sleeve my games with the Mayday sleeves to protect my games. Generally all the cards always fit any Broken Token organizer, however, if you get the correct sleeves, they will not fit the game and basically you will need to purchase an organizer for each (original and pictures). I wish they had put a disclaimer that says that it will not fit sleeves but now I pretty much cannot use the organizer if I want sleeved cards or I can purchase another organizer and defeat the purpose of having an all in one organizer. Very disappointed in this.
RESPONSE: You are indeed correct that the organizer was not designed for sleeved cards. The box was not large enough to accommodate sleeves in the configuration we wanted to create. Also due to the cost of most sleeves and the relative price of a replacement game, we decided it was not a feature we needed to support with this particular organizer.
We apologize that this was not clearly stated on the product description and we have made adjustments thanks to your feedback. Please do contact us so we can arrange a return and refund of your organizer, we always stand behind our products and want everyone to be thrilled with their TBT purchases!
Organize Codenames, Undercover, and Pictures!
My sister loves and has Codenames. I got her Codenames Undercover and Codenames Pictures as well as this organizer for her birthday. The description says it fits at least two Codenames games. It will fit all three if you do not try to store the duplicated items (timer, stand, agent color cards, etc.) Like all Broken Token organizers, this is a quality piece that allows you to condense your storage space and makes it a snap to set up and put away games.
Takes both original and pictures!
by Trond Klakken
Really nice inlay that takes both games in one box! It's easy to build and easy to use
Was really expecting this organizer to fit sleeved cards but it didn't! it is a few mm too narrow! and now I'm more sad that my codename pictures are not going to fit in too.
RESPONSE: This is our only organizer that doesn't accommodate sleeves. We apologize for the disappointment but physics dictates there is only so much room in the box :(
Faster, neater, more efficient
Assembles easily, makes far better use of the space in the box, speeds game set-up and pack-away. What more could you want?
RESPONSE: to fit two games in one box?? OH it does that too :D Thanks for the great review!
Awesome as usual!
by Julia S.
As expected this product is everything that you want it to be. And whats better is the pieces have numbers on it to help in the build process! Very awesome and great work!
I can't stand having cards inside plastic baggies, so this is a fantastic way to keep things organized. I us this for both the original game and Deep Undercover and there is still room to spare, so we will see if Pictures can be added. It was easy to assemble and everything fit together well, I only needed to use glue on a small section. Great product!
Ever so slightly confusing, still great
by Jason Hunt
This might have been the loosest Broken Token organizer I've ever assembled. Wood glue was a definite must-have rather than just a good suggestion. I also wasn't expecting the left and right sides of the organizer to have different dimensions (disclosure; I'm using this organizer for Codenames and Deep Undercover, rather than Codenames and Pictures) so organizing things the way I wanted them was slightly more difficult than anticipated.
But, at the end of the day, I now have two fully complete games of Codenames stored in a single box. Assembly was quick and easy (as soon as I started gluing EVERYTHING), fitting the organizer in the box was painless. Highly recommended if you have 2 or more Codenames games, moderately recommended if you only have 1.
I am so happy with this organizer! I have now consolidated my Codenames and Pictures together in one box. Looks great, easy to assemble, and a nice space saver. I did use glue on most joins to give a nice, tight fit; however, they may not have been important since it was going to be placed in the box.
RESPONSE: So great to hear :D I like to glue my corners too, not necessary but it feels better!
Simple space saver
by Adam B
While the Codenames box is rather small compared with other board games, it doesn't really make the most efficient use of space. This organizer takes advantage of that, allowing you to merge two games into one box. The end result is that you can store both Codenames and Codenames: Pictures in one box, taking up half the space. With my copy of "Pictures" on order, I thought it prudent to consolidate the two into one, and have already put the original Codenames in the box, with plenty of space left over for the newer version.
This organizer is a bit loser than other Broken Token designs that I've built, but a small amount of wood glue and tape on the corners yields a solid end result. Overall, the simple design fits everything from the game(s) neatly, with each of the parts having a "proper location", pretty much as pictured in the product image. The instructions were very straight-forward and I didn't have any issues in the construction or fit; either getting the organizer into the box, or the components into the organizer.
Overall, this a worthwhile purchase that I can recommend to anyone who wants to merge two copies of Codenames and save some space as a result. My four star rating is a bit conservative, more of a 4 and a half, really, but there is room for improvement if more specialize slots were available for the timer and stands, thus allowing for the possibility of something better coming along.
