Much like the fortified, French town, you want to keep your tiles, tokens and pieces "walled in" and protected in your box! Our Carcassone organizer holds the base game and many expansions (please refer to product images and below* for which expansions we have in ours). Seven rows for your tiles and the eight adjustable dividers let you keep your expansions separated. The two removable token trays hold meeples, abbots, wagons, barns, shepherds, tower pieces, a dragon, and more! Extra space above the tiles allows for other expansion pieces (like a bag of sheep).
- 2 removable token trays
- Includes 8 adjustable dividers
- Holds multiple expansions
Arrives as an easy-to-assemble kit.
* Photo includes the base set, The Abbott, Abbey & Mayor, Hills & Sheep, The River, The Tower, and The Dragon & The Princess, with room for more!

Great box organizer, size issues
Posted by Lincoln on 14th Sep 2016
I really do feel that Broken Token did made a great organizer, but given how long this game has been around there are bound to be size variances in the game boxes. Mine was definitely too small to fit the organizer. I have several different BT organizers and some are snug but still fit so I was optimistic. I split my box corner so I had to take it out. To make it fit I had to do a lot of sanding of the organize corners and smoothed out the sides so there would be less friction. It finally fit. My version of Carcassonne is a Rio Grande Games edition from 14 years ago.
RESPONSE: :( Thank you so much for the info. I hope this saves someone else the frustration. I generally recommend not pushing the org in. Most can be shaved down in size. And as always, if you ever have any issues, just email us and we will help in anyway we can. Thank you so much for your loyalty. Send me an email, I'd love to give you a store credit or something for your troubles!

I was able to put the Carcassonne organizer together in about 10 minutes with just my hands -- I needed no glue, tape, sandpaper, or even a mallet; I was able to press-fit everything together. The instructions were clear and easy to follow. It holds our base set plus all six expansions that we own, which is impressive due to the sheer number of tiles involved in that. Carcassonne is one of our top favorite games, and my fiancee and I were getting tired of getting under the cardboard in the box to get to our expansions, which were constantly getting jumbled up.
I have two complaints about the product, but they're not big enough to warrant the removal of any stars.
First up is the fact that it's just SLIGHTLY too large for my Z-Man Games base set (not the newer art). The corners of the box tore a little, but the box isn't why i buy my games. It would probably be better if the organizer was just a hairsbreadth thinner to allow for a snug, but not overly snug, fit.
Second is the fact that the internal wall that forms the box area has no slots to put dividers, so it's tough to put tiles in there that need to be sorted. This isn't anything that can't be fixed with sandpaper, but it's just an issue regarding design.
Overall, it's a WONDERFUL organizer, and I would totally buy from The Broken Token again!
A fantastic organizer

This was my second purchase from the Broken Token, after getting and being very impressed with the licensed Dominion box. It took me a few minutes to get the hang of how to snap the pieces together, but once I figured that out it was very easy to assemble. It fits in the box just perfectly, with no extra space, and I was able to consolidate the 5 or 6 boxes that were on my shelf down to just the one box from the base game; an important consideration, as my husband and I are both avid gamers, and space in our game closet is becoming a bit of a premium since we have recently started amassing children's games in an attempt to brainwash- er, I mean, introduce our 3-year-old to the hobby.
I did not find that wood glue was necessary, and I didn't tape the edges of the box as recommended, since the organizer fits snugly enough into the game box that it seems like the extra thickness of the tape would cause problems. I don't anticipate any problems due to the lack of tape, since there is no extra room to provide space for the pieces to move away from each other.
All in all, a great design. I will keep stalking the site obsessively- er, I mean checking back frequently to see what new organizers are being produced. . .
The best 'expansion' to date!

This holds a ton, and I am able to hold all my mini expansions in with it as well as their instructions (especially the small ones) I imagine if I added a box band-it I could store upright but I have no real need to do that at the moment, but I love how well everything is organized in here. The meeples and bridges going into the removable boxes is probably my favorite part as we can pull that out and play them right form the box.
Make sure you have the right box for this game when you order, as I feel the only negative review here is because of user error. This has been one of my most useful purchases from Broken Token by far and I own about 5 inserts and 2 accessories.
Easy to assemble with plenty of expansion space
Posted by Adam Bryant on 9th May 2016
I have an edition of Carcassonne that I purchased in July of 2015, which comes with the Abbott and Rivers expansions and is perfectly fitted to this organizer. There are various editions and printings out there, but according to Amazon it is the one currently available for sale (as of May 2016).
This particular organizer was very easy to assemble, with a little tape being used on the corners of the base organizer and some wood glue being used with each of the trays. The pieces fit together very snugly, so that might not have been needed, but is something I chose to do to provide an extra bit of strength. I also sanded down the two trays on each of the edges a little bit, as I like the resulting smoothness for handling purposes.
Having only the base game at the moment, there was plenty of room for my future expansion purchases. After packing the pieces into place, one tray was (mostly) filled and maybe a sixth of the tile storage area was used. The one tray that I used had five players worth of meeples stored in it, with the addition section open for the extra player provided with the Inns & Cathedrals expansion.
Overall, it makes very efficient use of a box that was really mostly empty space before.

The directions were easy to follow and it took about 15 minutes to put together and it looks clean. The only issue I have is that it only holds 6 different meeples and you have to use another spot for extra if you have them. I understand the design space keeps you from creating more but other than that it is great.
Works with the old, not with the new...
Posted by K-Sen on 22nd Feb 2016
Buyer beware! This organizer most likely fits well in the older Rio Grande Carcassonne boxes, but it does not fit the new versions or reprints by Z-Man Games. It's about one sheet of Broken Token's wood too long (3mm), and it will destroy your box trying to cram it in. Tested in three different boxes - Z-Man's Carcassonne Hunters & Gatherers, South Seas, and Gold Rush.
Complete inability to use my purchase aside, I'm of mixed opinions on the design. The design does maximize tile storage to fit many expansions, the dividers are helpful, and fit well while laying flat. But the dividers can be prone to coming loose if stored vertically (unless glued in), and there is enough empty space between them and the box's lid that they can completely unseat themselves. The tile trays are again great for flat storage, but if stored vertically the tray walls are a little short in height, and every eight or ninth tile has the potential to slip between the divider slots and jam up inside the box, or slide into the wrong tray area. Similarly, there is no lid for whichever of the meeple trays you place on top, and with the overall design not being 100% of the box's height, pieces will fall our of place if stored upright on a shelf.
As a boardgamer with over 100 boxes on my shelf, every game is stored upright on-edge - not flat - and transported to game days in that same manner. Ultimately, this organizer does less to keep things in place than the cardboard insert and plastic bags that come with the game. Which is a shame, because if it worked properly, this design would border on pure genius. If redesigned ever so slightly to fix the problems for upright use and for Z-Man edition sizing, I would definitely consider purchasing the redesign for each and every version of Carcassonne I have. But as the design is now, not a big fan.

Amazing how much space is in that tiny box!
Posted by Daniel Zuccarelli on 18th Feb 2016
My first order, and I was very impressed! Assembling the organizer only took a few minutes, and while all of the connections were very tight, none were so tight that I thought I was going to break anything.
I'm actually amazed at how much space can be found inside the box now, which really points me to the one downside of this thing. Now I need to go buy lots more expansions to fill it up!
Is it necessary? Nah. But It's nice to get everything in one place and having less redundant boxes to sit on shelves and take to game nights are a nice bonus.
Even the Catapult fits \o/

It feels so good to take 3 boxes and condense them down into one, organized box. Was super happy to see that even the Catapult fit with the little notches. I had brought myself to accept that the catapult would be tethered to the outside of the box, but nope, you were smarter than me!

Like all organizers, utterly unnecessary but it feels good to see everything neatly organized
