Among the Stars Organizer

Product Description

Our Among the Stars Organizer features two removable trays and plenty of card storage. It accommodates The Ambassadors, Expanding the Alliance and promo cards. Like all of our organizers, it supports sleeved cards and comes with 8 adjustable dividers. Cards are stored at an angle to support even the largest card sleeves in the existing game box.

One token tray has a removable lid while the other features engravings on the bottom to help organize your tokens and cubes.

This product is a kit that requires assembly. We recommend the use of wood glue (sold separately)

Makes setup and organization a breeze!

Many other reviewers have knocked this insert for being difficult to assemble. I personally didn't find that to be true. Like most Broken Token inserts, it is well-designed and easy to assemble. I always use glue to make the inserts as sturdy as possible, and I have assembled fifteen other BT inserts along with a handful of other brands, so perhaps my experience isn't typical.

This insert may not be necessary if you only have the base game. But once you start adding the expansions, this is the much-needed accessory to prevent you from having a box stuffed full of baggies. It holds all the cards and bits from every expansion for easy setup. However, if you want to store each type of card separately, you'll probably want to chip in the extra fiver to get the extra dividers.

My complaints about this organizer, which are relatively minor, has to do with the design of the dividers. The first two rows of the insert are for cards, stored with dividers at a slight angle. The second row doesn't have slots for the dividers on the back half of the row due to the design of the bits storage area in the third row. I got around this by putting a couple of the dividers in that area that are only secured on one side. It's an oversight in the design, but allows for a work-around. I was also a little disappointed the dividers couldn't be inserted at the same spot in each row. You have to stagger them in order to fit. A minor quibble if you want to maximize storage space.

Solid Hardware

This went together well and looks great in the box. The outside frame actually took a bit more work than I thought it would but I was able to figure it out.

This is great

The insert is extremely well made. I am very pleased and look forward to organizing more of my games.

good but not great

As noted in other reviews, this is a bit of a difficult insert to put together. Of the 4 inserts I own by Broken Token, this was the least snug fit for individual pieces, including the removable trays.

The removable trays themselves are nice, and the sliding lid on the top one is ingenious, but overall this insert feels more on the fancy side than the functional side- especially with half of one of the card rows being unable to accept inserts.

Organized Nicely

Among the Stars with expansions and Kickstarter rewards fit in the box nicely. Excellent work.

great insert.

I would give this 5 stars but I own 5 BT inserts for other games and this one was the only one that was a bit of a pain to put together. Not sure if different assembly instructions or more snug joints would fix it but the payoff is totally worth it. Can't wait to fill it with more expansions

A must

A bit work to get it all together, the outside frame was a little woobly. After assemblying it was magnifisent. It takes all the expantion and makes setup and tear down much easier and organized! Full score for awesome inlay, one star minus for (more) difficult assembly than i.e. imperial settlers (a 5 star!)

My least favorite insert so far...

It's a good insert- don't get me wrong- but it's not quite the same level as the others I have. I have 7 Wonders, Caverna, an artist's case divider, some sleeved card dividers, and Suburbia. This one doesn't fit together quite as tightly and the box with a lid is just a bit wonky. I have all the expansions and they fit very well (with room for ten more). I haven't had to glue my other ones, but this one feels like I might need to go back and glue it.

Overall, I'm definitely glad I have it, but overall quality is just a bit lower than what I expect from such an awesome company.

I never realized how much I needed this until I used it

The game with it's expansions had reached a point of so many plastic bags that it was becoming impossible to close. This insert perfectly arranges all of the pieces by whatever means that you can think of. Truly incredible.

Very good product!

As other reviews have noted, this organizer is trickier to put together then most of the Broken Token organizers I own. I've assembled several at this point so I'd like to think I'm rather competent at assembling these. This one though is just a bit more advanced then your run of the mill insert.

As far as the finished product goes, I'm a bit worried that I'm already running out of space since I use Fantasy Flight sleeves for my cards. This isn't a flaw in the insert design, but I would suggest that you be warned if you have all the sets and promos for this game. Its starting to get tight. If you own all the expansions and promos, you will still need to keep one of the small expansion boxes to hold all of your tokens and any plastic figures you have. There just isn't room for everything.

On the plus side, the layout does allow me to organize premade deck builds for a 2, 3, and 4 player games. That alone cuts down on my set up time by 20 minutes or more!
