If you have a game with several expansions or you have made crafty modifications to the point where your box won't close/shut all the way, these are perfect. We have games with expansions in the them where the lid does not go all the way down. If we are traveling the lids might come off due to this. These box bands are perfect to keep the boxes closed and secure. We have confidence now that we when open our luggage that there will not be game pieces all over the place.

...this will definitely help. I was moving around a lot with my boardgames in the trunk of my car and the box lids were popping up slightly and spilling contents of my games into disarray inside of the box. These bands do the job and will help keep things shut.
RESPONSE: OH MY GOODNESS pre box band sounds like a nightmare!! glad we could help stop that!!
Does the job

Giant four way rubber bands. They do the job, but they seem thin in width when used. The positioning almost invites you to use it a "handle" for the box, but the rubber band seems like it stretches pretty thin if you try it.
Additionally if you are stacking boxes that have each been banded, the rubber really likes to grab on, especially other bands.
Still handy, but I think I'll just keep a few on hand for when I transport games, rather then leaving them on game boxes.
It's two, two, two bands in one!

We've probably all used rubber bands of various sizes to keep game boxes shut. But, finding large-enough rubber bands that are wide enough not to destroy the boxes in the process is often difficult.
These rubber bands are nice and wide, *and* they are actually *two* bands in one, so you can use one band around both the length and width of your box!
They work great, and come in three sizes, to fit any game box. Buy a pack of each, and you'll be all set for whatever comes your way!

These are a life saver! I like to store games vertically, when I can - but games like Splendor and Battle Sheep would readjust and the box creeps open... Or games like Cosmic Encounter, if everything is in the box, the lid doesn't quite fit - problem negotiated!
And of course, keeps things shut in transport!
Could I use a couple rubberbands? Sure, but they don't look as cool, and they wear out to easily - these things are thick, sturdy and stylish!
I bought this size and the small ones, both excellent!
