  1. Awesomely awesome organizer

Posted by Jim Dunaway on 15th May 2017

The Broken Token hit’s another one out of the ballpark.

Whenever I see or hear something about an organizer I think of a card box with dividers. If the name The Broken Token is attached to it, I should know better.

They truly thought of everything which takes The Terraforming Mars organizer beyond being a simple organizer.

Sure, it has a card tray which can be stood upright and has a cool carving on each side.

The token trays are great in that there are 2 of them, each of which holds half of the greenery/city tiles and the gold, silver and bronze resource cubes so you can have them at each end of the table.

The acrylic temperature, oxygen and generation markers add a little class to the game.

What really stands out are the player trays. They hold the player markers securely which eliminates the problem of the markers getting knocked out of their current position. What I like the best about the player trays is that they stack in such a way that you can leave the markers in the trays when you pack up.

I’m not very good at reading directions and assembling something like this. Never have been, which is why I really appreciated the assembly videos. While a little time consuming, everything was very easy to assemble.

The Terraforming Mars organizer is well worth the price and it’s money well spent.

  2. Almost Perfect

Posted by Unknown on 6th May 2017

I recently bought this and put it together. The instructions were simple and complete. Everything fit tightly, so only a little glue was necessary. My biggest issue is that it is a very tight fit in the box, making getting the play boards out a bit of a hassle. Other than that, this was perfect.

I guess the only other thing I could wish for, and this applies to all of the organizers is a description of what the suggested layout is for storing things; i.e. what goes where.

  3. Great organizer!

Posted by Carlton E Fike on 29th Apr 2017

I bought this organizer after seeing it used on a couple forums. I was not disappointed. It was easy, a little time consuming, but easy to assemble. The organizer makes the game setup WAY easier and the player board are absolutely fantastic! Would definitely recommend.

  4. Worth every penny

Posted by Andrew Maly on 18th Apr 2017

The player trays by themselves are worth the price of admission. No more worrying about bumping a playmat and trying to figure out all your levels. The 10, 20, 30 spots for each resource are also a nice touch.

    Very easy to assemble.

  5. Fantastic insert, broken temprature token

Posted by Eric Swanson on 15th Apr 2017

Broken Token has again nailed it with this insert. Setup has been transformed from a chore into a quick formality. I especially appreciate how they provided two sleeves for resource markers (one for each side of the table), and their recessed player boards have solved the shifting/sliding player markers issue.

One downside is that the plastic temperature marker split its base in half when I inserted it, rendering it useless. Off into the trash it went, which upset me.

  6. A must have for this game

Posted by Ian F. on 13th Apr 2017

Using this organizer makes setting up the game take about as long as it takes to give the cards a quick shuffle, lay out the board, and hand off the player trays. Putting it away is just as quick and the functionality also speeds up gameplay as well. It really shines when you want to play the game solo and has contributed to so many more plays of this game. This is probably the best organizer I own and I can't recommend it enough.

  7. Quickly becoming my favorite game and box organizer!

Posted by Evan on 11th Apr 2017

This organizer is awesome, I have several of the Broken Token organizers and they're all really nice, but I like that this one comes with player board replacements. No need for separate acrylic overlays, the player cubes can be stored on the boards when put away and they're ready for play when you pull it out. Also the etching and it being a wooden board vice the rather "colorful" (loud) original player board I think made it easier when my group was new to the game the symbols are simple, easier to read and they all mean something. The organizer itself went together very quickly, no hassles there. The card storage is another awesome feature (it has a rocket ship design on the side that my girlfriend got a kick out of) not only does it store the cards (it fits Mayday Premium sleeves, which is what I used, FFGs might fit but I am not sure) it also functions as a draw/discard box if you stand it up during play. I also like the rocket token for first player and the acrylic generation, temperature, and oxygen markers, very cool. Having two resource trays with the greenery/city tiles and the metallic cubes to leave on either end of the playing table is great, too, it helps prevent crowding with grabby hands during the production phase.

This is well worth the extra scratch, greatly improves set-up and clean-up and the components, I feel, really improve the gameplay experience.

Another reviewer mentioned something with a symbol on the player boards being mixed up, I didn't notice that on mine, it must have changed since they wrote the review.

  8. Good organizer, make sure everything is flush!

Posted by Brian Lemieux on 10th Apr 2017

I had no issues with putting the organizer together, dry fitting some of the components was so snug I just left them without glue, others I knew should be glued and had issues getting them apart to glue.

Make sure that you do a dry fit, if you don't some things may not be flush and thus not fit into the box without a little work.

The only issue I have with this organizer would be the player boards and the resource holders. The resource holders are just a bit small to get your fingers in, but they work and you can dump them out on the table if you wish. Not enough of an issue to remove even 1/2 a star. The player board has no color on it, and thus everything blends in. Fixable many ways, but I just used some colored felt tip pens and colored them in. Worked perfectly.

I do love this organizer. I love how you can just take the trays out and hand them to people, all ready to go.

  9. Absolutely GREAT!

Posted by Lee on 9th Apr 2017

The person that designed this deserves a raise! Everything if well thought out and works perfectly!. This is well worth the purchase price.

  10. First time builder

Posted by Unknown on 7th Apr 2017

It took me about 3 hours to build this for a friend's Birthday gift. Build went mostly smoothly. The way the wood was keyed made it so that I had to have some blemished or marked wood on the outside of organizer that I would have faced inward if possible.

Instructions were straightforward, didn't need the assembly video but it was nice to have. The Acrylic pieces seem to be slightly to big to fit in the box side-by side and require one to sit on top of another. Also the paper used to protect the Acrylic is tough to remove.

I had to remove an insert with Mars graphics from the box to make everything fit. Since both the game and the organizer are a gift I feel that ruins the presentation a bit.

Everything feels sturdy once the glue cures. Looks nice, card tower has room for expansions and everything looks nice.

RESPONSE: Please email me support@thebrokentoken.com It sounds like you have a few things we could trouble shoot and fix for you! For a first time builder this isn't one of the easiest to put together, so great job! Everything should fit in the box!
