I purchased this as a Christmas present for a friend and he was elated!
It was very easy to put together, though I recommend using wood glue if you have it, and a small rubber mallet or something with a blunt end to gently lock the pieces in.
We played Cosmic Encounter with his new organizer and it made setup and tear down a breeze. Couldn't recommend enough!
Worth the effort

Unlike my previous Broken Token organizer for Dead of Winter, there is a bit going on with this Cosmic encounter one. For starters, when they mention having glue, they mean it. I purchased glue with the order and found the youtube video of how and where to apply it to work perfectly for me. If you have used the Broken Token organizers before, then aside from the little ship token trays, you will have this one assembled in no time with great instructions and decent construction quality. Highly recommend this, but make sure you add some expansions, or your box will look a little empty!
The best cosmic expansion

The headline is a slight exaggeration, but I wouldn't recommend buying more than one or two expansions if you're not going to get this insert.
There's little to add beyond the pictures. Everything fits. Going by pictures on BGG it seems that you *can* get all six expansions into the box. I don't have Eons, but the first five fit perfectly.
This is the most challenging insert I've put together, but I wouldn't say it's hard. The most difficult part are the trays that hold the ships. I ended inserting the separators one at a time into both edge pieces, working them back and forth a bit to get the last few in, rather than putting all into one edge and trying to line the second edge up as the printed instructions indicate.
Good fit and excellent product.

Some of the pieces have a very small splintering issue when breaking free of the sprues. The appear laser cut by the occasional flare up scorching on some of the corners where I imagine the speed slowed slightly. In most cases this is a light discoloration and was on the scrap portion.
They fit together snugly, and feel solid when assembled. I applied a very small amount of wood glue to end pieces, but am confident in the interlocking nature to hold strong even without most likely. I only glued the capping pieces for this reason. It does all fit in the box perfectly, though I don't quite have every expansion yet.
I'd recommend this for Cosmic Encounters and any game like it that does not have its own organizational structure. I look forward to purchasing the Zombicide product and replacing my current Chinese food containers. Even Scythe, which was well designed and self-organizing, looks spectacular with these additions.
A great insert!

Got all expansions up to Eons (with eons there are too many aliens :( )
Really nice made, setup and tear downs goes really quick now! Love it!
Finally, a better way to store Cosmic Encounters

If you are like me and have often been bothered by the utter chaos that is the Cosmic Encounter box, this is your answer. This kit is a bit harder to assemble than others I have made (for other games), but it is really well thought out and works great.

FFG have a habit of not really having a usable insert included with their games. The Broken Token insert does a great job sorting everything and helping you find everything you want with just a glance at the insert. It holds all components and cards from the base game and the 4 expansions I have. All the cards are sleeved and there is still plenty of space left, but I can see it getting pretty tight pretty quickly. I will say that after my four expansions I need to get the additional card dividers to start sorting all the new types of cards. I don't think that's a negative, but I do think it might be helpful for someone picking this up to learn how many dividers to get.
Amazing space-saving organizer

I had previously been storing my copy of Cosmic Encounter across the main box and a few of the smaller boxes from the expansions. This organizer was able to get everything from the main game and all the expansions back into the original game box, which previously seemed impossible!
Almost all of the trays snap together with no problem. Some of Broken Token's other kits claim to need glue but actually don't, but it is *definitely* required to assemble this kit's spaceship trays. The spaceship trays were the only ones that were challenging to fit together, but once assembled were fantastic.
This kit squeezes every inch of the main game and all 5 expansions into this box perfectly, even if you've sleeved your cards. I highly recommend using this kit to be able to fit everything into your main Cosmic Encounter Box!
a great organizer for a great game

Cosmic Encounter is one of my favorite games, so I was thrilled to see the Broken Token come up with an organizer for it. Previously, I used way too many ziplock bags to keep all the pieces of the game organized in the box, had to meticulously squeeze all the extra air out of each one, force them to lie as flat as possible, and still had an "overflow box" for a few components that I just could not get to fit. I was impressed to find that it is indeed possible to fit all of the expansions in the box for the base game.
There are just 2 things that stood in the way of this organizer getting a 5-star review. The first was the process of assembling the trays for the spaceships. This required a lot of wood glue and even more patience, and became very frustrating to me at one point. In all fairness, this may have been due in part to the fact that I waited until it was late and I was tired to start assembling the organizer, but with a 3-year-old who doesn't like to go to bed at a normal time, doing things late and while tired is the only way they ever get done around here. The other issue is that I wish there were more dividers for the cards, as I like to separate the red, yellow, and green flare cards, the large group cards, and the player colors in the Destiny deck. As it is, I had to make some tough choices about what I could separate and what had to be mixed together. After much deliberation, I opted to mix the large group cards in with the rest of the deck, and throw all the Destiny cards in one divider together. Since I don't sleeve my cards, there would be plenty of room for the extra dividers, and they would make the organizer perfect for my poor little OCD brain. Perhaps an additional set of dividers could be offered as an add-on in the future?
It's not even the same game without an organizer.

Set up and tear down become unnoticeable, and the organizer actually improves gameplay.
