The Broken Token, a leader in the board game organizers and accessories market, is hiring an Assembly Specialist at our Escondido (San Diego), California headquarters.

Job Title: Laser Operator

Location: Escondido, California

Start Date: Immediately Upon Hire

Wage: $11.00/hr

Our Laser Operators make sure our products meet the high quality standards our customers have come to expect from our company. The primary role of this job will be to operate and maintain our laser cutters, which is the initial part of our manufacturing process.

We’re looking for someone who is eager to be a part of a fast-paced team. The ideal candidate will be reliable, able to work with attention to detail, be thoughtful of safety standards, and show a willingness to learn new things. Being a team player is also essential since all tasks will require close collaboration with co-workers. The end goal is to ensure that production procedures are carried out smoothly to maximize efficiency and profit, while creating the highest quality product.

Laser Operators receive on-the-job training. Experience working in a wood shop or commercial production department is a plus. Interest in tabletop gaming is an added bonus!

Job Description:

  • This position:
  • Is full-time (40 hours a week).
  • Requires lifting up to 50 lbs, and walking/standing for more than 4 hours a day.
  • This is a Shift position which requires strict punctuality. It is mandatory for Laser Operators to overlap their arrival time with the prior shift so that important information can be passed along, and productivity levels can be maintained.
  • Applicants should:
  • Have a strong attention to detail.
  • Be comfortable operating computers and machinery.
  • Have great communication skills.
  • Work well with a team.
  • Be able to work independently and, after training, follow through on duties with minimal direction.

Primary Duties:

  • Set up machines (calibration, cleaning etc.) to start a production cycle
  • Control and adjust machine settings (e.g. speed)
  • Feed raw material or parts to semi-automated machines
  • Inspect parts with precision and measuring tools
  • Ensure the constant, consistent, and efficient running of production.
  • Test operation of machines periodically
  • Fix issues that might occur during the shift
  • Check output to spot any machine-related mistakes or flaws
  • Keep records of approved and defective units or final products
  • Maintain activity logs
  • Learn our products and laser operation standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Ensure that products meet our high quality standards
  • Maintain and organize workshop supplies and tools
  • Work with supervisor and other departments to keep operations running smoothly
  • Assist in other departments as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned
